We Are People on a Journey

It has been a timely conviction that I should begin to think of my journey on this earth for my time is indeed short.

Stanza 1 speaks of Christ the Lord, the crucified, that He is my faithful guide, who walks the life of service. Truly, I need to serve as He has served.

What a glorious act of love, Jesus, my Lord never wavered. He gave up all glory of heaven, and being the God of the universe, came and serve sinners like me. How could I allow self-righteousness and becoming judgmental hinder my service for Him!

Lord, I need to have your face before me to strengthen me to follow your humility of washing the feet of others with joy of service. It’s not easy but you have set the example and said that we are called to do the same.

Stanza 4 speaks of the joy of reaching our journey at our eternal home. With that before me, I can speak peace and accept the scorn. Truly it is with God’s help and the power of the Holy Spirit. – C.H.H.

  1. As I listened to the participants’ sharing last night, I’m reminded of the faithfulness of God and the beauty of being in a community. Their reflections conveyed God’s truth and character to me.

  2. Indeed the session has encouraged me to a timely conviction of my walk with the Lord to be taken more seriously and awareness of my need to see the Holy Spirit’s guidance in my life.
