Lay in Dust

Psalm 44:18
Our hearts had not turned back;
our feet had not strayed from your path.

My heart and mind wandered lately into the past, the could-haves, and the what-ifs.

Without intentional daily anchoring in God, all of us tend to drift away from him. And drifting happens very subtly, and often unknowingly.

This season of my life, I’m learning to hold fast to a verse in a hymn, ‘O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go’, that has anchored me the past two years.

“I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

“I lay in dust life’s glory dead.”
May my heart remain steadfast in Him who has called me into a relationship with Him,
And may my feet keep walking on the narrow path He has called me to, neither turning to the left nor to the right, come what may.
