“Because I have no one to talk to, I started to talk to God.”
This was what my sis texted a few hours ago in our family group chat – dad, mum, sis and I.
This afternoon, my mum received a gift basket from the Silver Generation Division, Agency for Integrated Care. It was meant for my dad who is currently in the isolation ward still and on oxygen support. It has been more than a month since his admission. This triggered my sis’ unpleasant memory of her home quarantine, where she and her husband were desperately trying to find out the answers to their questions from two government ministries, to little avail.
So when my sis finally received a call when the storm (amidst several others) was over, she thanked the officer over the phone for calling and said, “Because I have no one to talk to [then], I started to talk to God.”
Reflection
Yes, the response from the government ministry came a little late.
Yet, what may seem to be a delay or a poor response may be God’s instrument to draw hearts to Himself.
God, I thank You for the high level of anxiety and helplessness during those intense days, that drove my sis to call out to You, the God whom she once prayed to when she was little.
